These are the questions we hear most from owners across Greater Victoria before they decide whether to work with us. The short answers are above; below are a few longer explanations of the topics that cause the most confusion.
VictoriaAgency.ca is a marketing and consulting service. We are not a contractor and don't perform trades work of any kind.
Frequently asked questions
What does VictoriaAgency.ca do?
We plan and run marketing for trades, home-service and independent local businesses across Greater Victoria: local search, websites, Google and Meta ads, reviews and seasonal campaigns. Behind it stands the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group of companies.
Are you a contractor?
No. Our people never quote, build or fix anything for homeowners, so we are never your competition for a job. We help the businesses that do the work win more of it.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $1,999 a month month-to-month, or $1,499 a month on annual billing, with Elite and Enterprise plans above that. Victoria clients add 5% GST, and ad spend is paid separately.
Is there a long-term contract?
No. Every plan rolls month to month, and a 30-day heads-up ends it. Paying annually is optional and only lowers the monthly rate.
How long until we see results?
Paid ads can produce enquiries within the first couple of weeks. Google profile fixes often show up within a month. Organic search and reviews build over three to six months and keep compounding after that.
We tried an agency before and it didn't work. Why would this be different?
Common reasons agencies fail are vague goals, reports full of clicks rather than enquiries, and accounts held hostage. We agree a cost-per-enquiry target in writing, report on calls and bookings, and keep every account in your name. If it isn't working, you can leave on 30 days' notice.
Who owns the website, domain and ad accounts?
You do. We set up or move your domain, website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics into your name, with us added as users. If you leave, you remove our access and keep everything.
What do your monthly reports show?
Enquiries by channel and by municipality, cost per enquiry, ad spend, review count and rating, and what we're changing next month. They're written in plain English, not dashboards full of jargon.
Can you promise first place on Google?
No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Google decides rankings. We can improve the things that influence them and report honestly on what changes.
Do you work with businesses outside the trades?
Yes. Alongside trades and home services we work with clinics, studios, cafés, shops and other independent businesses in the capital region.
Do you cover the West Shore, the Peninsula and the islands?
Yes. We cover all 13 municipalities in the Capital Regional District and its three electoral areas, including Salt Spring Island and the Southern Gulf Islands.
Why are your case studies from HVAC companies?
They are results from our HVAC work, where the group's portfolio began. We publish only named results with live links, and we never present them as results from other industries.
Do I need to meet you in person?
It's your choice. Consultations are available in person or by video call, and the rest of the work runs by phone, text, email and shared documents.
Price and value
Price questions usually hide a better question: will this pay for itself? The honest answer depends on what a customer is worth to you. A business whose average job is worth a few thousand dollars in margin needs only a handful of extra jobs a month to cover a plan. A business selling $20 items needs hundreds of extra sales, and may be better served by free steps first.
Our pricing page works through an example with real plan prices so you can run your own numbers. If they don't add up, we'll say so in the first conversation.
Contracts and leaving
We don't use long contracts because we don't think you should be stuck with an agency that isn't working. Plans are month to month with 30 days' notice. The thing that actually keeps clients free to leave is account ownership: if the domain, site and ad accounts are in your name, switching agencies is simple. If they're in the agency's name, it can take weeks and cost you your history.
If you've been burned before, ask any agency, including us, to show you exactly whose name is on each account. Our guide to choosing an agency lists more questions like this.
Timelines and expectations
Different channels move at different speeds. Ads are fast but stop the moment you stop paying. Local search and reviews are slower but keep working. A sensible plan often uses ads to bring in enquiries now while organic work builds underneath.
We don't promise rankings or lead numbers. We do promise to agree targets in writing, report against them every month and tell you plainly when something isn't working.
Working across the capital region
Greater Victoria isn't one market. Customers in Langford, Oak Bay and Sidney search differently, value different things and expect different travel times. Most businesses do best by focusing on a few municipalities near their base. The areas page describes each part of the region, and the services page explains how we match channels to those areas.
Reporting you can read over coffee
Each monthly report opens with a short paragraph: how many enquiries arrived, what each one cost, which municipalities they came from and what we're changing next. Below that sit the supporting numbers for anyone who wants them, such as ad spend by campaign, search terms we blocked, new reviews and profile calls.
If you can't tell within five minutes whether last month was good or bad, the report has failed, and we rewrite it. Owners who share their booked jobs with us get an extra line showing cost per booked job, which is the number that matters most.
Ownership, in practice
On day one we ask you to create or confirm the accounts in your own name: the domain registrar, the website host, Google Business Profile, Google Ads, Meta Business and analytics. You then invite us as a manager or user. That way you hold the keys, and we hold a copy.
If an earlier agency set things up under its own login, we help you request the transfer. It can take a few weeks, so it's worth starting early. Losing an old ad account's history is annoying; losing a domain that customers know is far worse.
