Marketing services for Greater Victoria, and how to pick the first one

VictoriaAgency.ca helps trades, home-service firms and independent shops across Greater Victoria get found by the right people in the right municipality, then turns that attention into calls, texts and booked work. We plan for the region as it really is: thirteen separate municipalities, each with its own name on the map and in the search bar.

We are a marketing and consulting service, not a contractor. We never install, repair or service anything; we help the businesses that do. VictoriaAgency.ca is part of the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, a Canadian company headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and it is led by Ali Sedighi, MBA.

Why "Victoria" is not one market

Most customers don't search for "Victoria". They search for a plumber in Saanich, a dog groomer in Langford, or a roofer in Oak Bay. Greater Victoria is governed as the Capital Regional District, which counts 13 municipalities and three electoral areas, and residents use those names every day.

That changes how marketing should be built. A website with a single "serving Greater Victoria" line gives Google very little to match against a search from Colwood or North Saanich. A business that names its real service area, shows work from those places and collects reviews that mention them gives search engines and people something specific to trust.

The numbers make the point. In the 2021 census the region held 415,451 people, and the City of Victoria itself accounted for less than a quarter of them. Saanich alone was larger than the city. A business that only markets "Victoria" is quietly ignoring most of its potential customers.

What we do for Greater Victoria businesses

We offer five services. Most clients start with one or two and add more once the first is paying for itself.

The services overview explains how to choose between them if you can only afford one this year.

A quick check you can run today

Before you hire anyone, try this ten-minute test. It shows where you stand without spending a dollar.

  1. Open a private browser window on your phone and search for your main service plus three municipalities you serve, for example "electrician Esquimalt", "electrician View Royal" and "electrician Sidney".
  2. Note whether your business appears in the map results for each one.
  3. Open your own Google Business Profile and count the reviews from the last 90 days.
  4. Open your website on your phone and time how long it takes to find your phone number.

If you show up in one municipality out of three, have fewer than three recent reviews and need more than five seconds to find a number, you have found your first three priorities. Our guide to planning a Greater Victoria service area walks through what to do next.

Worked example: what a new customer is worth

Marketing spend only makes sense against what a customer brings in. Here is a simple way to think about it, with round numbers you can replace with your own.

Suppose a Saanich renovation company averages $6,000 per job and keeps 30% as gross margin. Each job is worth $1,800 in margin. If one in four quotes turns into a job, each quote opportunity is worth about $450 in margin. A marketing plan that produces 10 extra quote requests a month is creating about $4,500 in monthly margin, before any repeat work or referrals.

Now flip it. If your average sale is $80 and margins are thin, as with many cafés and retailers, paid ads must be tightly limited and most of the effort should go into free channels like your profile, reviews and repeat visits. The pricing page shows how plan choice follows from these numbers.

Proof, honestly labelled

Our case studies are results from our HVAC work, and we don't dress them up as anything else. Take GasBoilers.ca: we built it as a gas-boiler division for CANRO Heat, and it now covers 26+ BC communities with 5.0★ from 76+ Google reviews. BCWide.ca reached 3× leads in 90 days.

What transfers to a Victoria florist or a Langford fencing company is the method: clear service areas, pages that answer real questions, a review habit and tight tracking. Each case, with its limits spelled out, sits on the results page.

How we work with you

You get a written plan, a monthly report in plain English and a direct line to the strategist. There is no long contract; plans run month to month with 30 days' notice. Your accounts stay in your name.

How it works

  1. Show us where your work comes from

Send a rough list of last year's jobs or sales by municipality, with what each was worth. It tells us whether Saanich, the West Shore or the core actually pays you best.

  2. Agree a plain written plan

We put the target municipalities, the channels, the monthly cost and the numbers we will report into one short document before anything is spent.

  3. Talk to the person doing the thinking

There is no sales team in between. Call, text or email; you'll talk to a senior strategist.

Frequently asked questions

What is VictoriaAgency.ca?

VictoriaAgency.ca is a Canadian marketing and business consulting service for trades and local businesses in Greater Victoria. Ali Sedighi, MBA, leads it, and it belongs to the Sedighi.ca and SAZ.ca group, whose head office sits across the Strait in Vancouver, BC.

Do you do any trades work yourselves?

No. Nobody here picks up a wrench, ladder or paintbrush for clients; we are not a contractor. Our job is marketing and growth advice for the Island businesses that do the work.

Do you have an office in Victoria?

No. The group is based in Vancouver, and we say so plainly. Almost all of the work happens in your website, your Google profile and your ad accounts, and you reach us by video call, in person, call, text or email.

Are your results from Victoria businesses?

The case studies are results from our HVAC work with Canadian heating companies, and each one links to the client's live site. We don't present them as plumbing, retail or hospitality results; we explain which parts of the method transfer.

How much does it cost?

The Growth plan is $1,999 monthly when you stay month to month, dropping to $1,499 monthly if you commit to a year, with 5% GST on top. Ad spend goes directly to Google or Meta. Eligible trades businesses get a free 30-minute first consultation.

Do I keep my website and accounts if I leave?

Yes. Your domain, website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics should be in your name from day one, with us added as a user. Leaving should be a matter of removing our access.
